Mesotherapy involves multiple superficial skin injections of a cocktail of vitamins, minerals, co enzymes and amino acids, all of which are essential for optimal skin health. The skin cocktail we use at the Dr Mulrooney clinic is manufactured by the French company FILOGRA, which is the world leader in mesotherapy products. This skin boosting cocktail is injected using the automated meso injector gun called the U225 Gun which is unique to the Dr Mulrooney Clinic, as opposed to the traditional hand held injector technique that is inconsistent and wasteful. The U225 injection gun delivers a precise and uniform amount of product at a specific depth in the dermis which ensures optimal dermal nourishment and collagen stimulation, thereby ensuring optimal results of improved skin texture, tone and radiance.
Mesotherapy is suitable for most skin types, from 30 to 80 years of age, especially sun damaged or smokers’ skin or anyone looking to get healthy, dewy, glowing skin.
Mesotherapy is a course of three treatments spaced three weeks apart. Each treatment takes 1 hour. Numbing cream is applied to clean skin for 40 mins, the area is then cleansed, sterilised and injected. There is redness and mild swelling post treatment that settles quickly - within an hour. Bruising is unlikely, but injection marks may be visible post treatment but generally fade after 1-2 days and are easy to conceal. It is advised not to apply make up for 24 hours post treatment to minimise the risk of infection.
Results peak at 3 to 6 weeks with patients noticing a more plumped, even skin. Results are cumulative and improve treatment on treatment.
Mesotherapy works well with a prescriptive skincare regime, botulinum toxin and filler for optimal facial rejuvenation.
